Flights to Northern Cyprus

To get to the River Apartments in the Forest Golf and Beach Resort near Esentepe, you can either fly to Ercan Airport (ECN) in Northern Cyprus or Larnaca Airport (LCA) in Southern Cyprus and then transfer to the north.

Transfers from Ercan Airport to the River Apartments cost around £30 and can be included at the time of booking.

But then you need to get from Larnaca airport to Northern Cyprus. The easiest way to do this is by booking a direct transfer service to the apartment. The transfer will take about 1.5 hours and cost around £60. The transfer may be cheaper if you also hire a car from the transfer company whilst staying at the apartment.

Alternatively, you can hire a car at Larnaca Airport and then drive to Northern Cyprus yourself (see below) . There are now a number of crossing points open 24 hours a day. Further information on all of these options can be supplied on request.

Car Hire in Northern Cyprus

Hiring a car in Northern Cyprus is easier and cheaper than in many other countries. The main roads are very good and you drive on the left, as in the UK. To hire a car you need to be aged over 18 and have a valid driving license. Please note that most car hire rates in Northern Cyprus do not include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), which is highly recommended.

You can usually pick your car up at Ercan Airport, or book a transfer to the your car hire firm in either Nicosia or Kyrenia. But remember, cars that have been hired in the North cannot be taken across the border into the South.

If you are arriving at Larnaca Airport, you need to make sure that your hire company is happy for you to take the car into the North. If they are, then you will need to buy extra insurance at the border, to cover you for driving in the North.

Alternatively, some car hire firms in the North will provide a taxis transfer from Larnaca Airport to their offices in the North; hire you a car whilst staying in the North and then provide you with a transfer back to Larnaca Airport when you leave.
